I had my Volvo booked in at Waylands Reading for a brake check and faulty air conditioning . This was a few weeks ago when the garage had just recently reopened. Simon Gosden look after me and my car with his usual friendly efficiency. I was very reassured to the many measures that the company have put in place to protect us and the staff.The car was returned repaired by Alex Fernandez-Page who always goes the extra mile to explain as to what the problem was and how it was put right. This Sunday noon we visited the new showroom to see, try and order a new Volvo hybrid and to enquire about the charger unit at home. Unfortunately this was not to be! The female receptionist was excellent -pleasant, polite and efficient And asked us for a drink but the salesman John exactly the opposite. He said there was none to try, don’t know when it’ll be possible to try one and the delivery was February 2020. We wanted to discuss further but he didn’t offer us seat or chance to discuss in detail. However he printed for us some price charts and spec sheets. From the display cabinet in the showroom I wanted to buy Volvo brand leather case for my iPhoneX but it was the early model. John said I should be looking for these in the mobile phone shop. Will you have that in stock John at a later date? ‘No’ was his curt reply! No courteousness, no up-selling, no salesmanship. Dear Volvo - training & quality revision please. Thank you.
